This is the first in a series of themed recommendation posts.
The first theme, appropriately enough, is firsts. Post recs to your favourite stories featuring a first kiss, first date, or the first time John and Cam got together. The stories can be about a one-night stand, a few short nights together, or the beginning of an ongoing relationship.
Please remember to include the title, author, link, rating (if available), and some indication of what the story's about and/or why people should read it.
Please limit yourself to five recs in total for this theme.
The full list of rules is available here. Any questions or comments should go on the introduction post so that this post doesn't get cluttered with non-rec comments.

Why this should be read: This is one of several stories written around the idea of John and Cam first meeting after the Atlantis expedition has been sent back to Earth by the Replicators. It does a wonderful job of capturing Cam's sudden desire to help a rather fragile John, and I absolutely love the slow build of their relationship as Cam pursues a friendship and wonders whether there's any chance of more. It also has the added benefit of some great Cam & Sam friendship, with a little Vala & Daniel on the side.

Why This Should Be Read: Well, for one thing, it's epic. It has a great buildup as John and Cam first become friends, and then unexpectedly slide into something more. It also does a great job of working in other characters, especially Teyla, who I think we can all agree is often neglected.
(On an unrelated note, this rec thing has already shown that I desperately need to do better with my Delicious tags.)

Why this should be read: This is a short and lovely story in which Cam takes care of John after John's recalled temporarily to Earth because of his talent with Ancient technology. There's a little bit of SG-1 goodness, and both John and Cam are so very much themselves that it's a pleasure to read.

Why this should be read: This is the sequel to The Towers On The Heights Reach To Heav'n's Own Blue. The first story ended with Cam inviting John back to Earth to join SG-1 on a trip to Atlanta for a basketball tournament, an invitation while swearing he wasn't asking John out on a date. This story proves Cam a liar. This features some truly hilarious SG-1 interactions, and some great Cam/John moments as John slowly realizes that yes, in fact, Cam was asking him out.
